Leading a Chain of 111 Schools all over the Country.

 
 

"Every Ryanite is a King in the making who shall rule the world with all that the Ryan International schools have empowered him with". Dr.A.F.Pinto. These words by the Founder Chairman Dr. A.F. Pinto clearly reflect his vision of education which is to educate children through a comprehensive academic curriculum supported by critical thinking skills as well as the  development of as communication skills. Leading a chain of 111 schools all over the country Dr. A.F. Pinto was also the Sheriff of Mumbai in the year 2000. he is a pioneer in modernizing the educational system by doing away with cumbersome methods of learning.

 

He set up his first school Fr. Agnelo's  High School at Malad in 1976 and later the St. Xavier's High School in 1983.

 

Dr. A.F. Pinto strongly believes in `Value Education' to give the students a head start in today's competitive world. In addition to the 3 Rs, emphasis is laid on nurturing character, personality life values and vocational skills.

 

Behind the success of this eminent personality lies manifold virtues which have really set him apart and made him the proud recipient of numerous awards.

1. Values

Interaction of students with great personalities like Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who is the epitome of high principles and moral values.
- Value based Talks & Thoughts during morning assembly.
   
2. Environment
-
Plantation drives at reputed hospitals like Fortis, Corporates like LG, Retail outlets like Reebok,Public places like McDonald's, Media giants like Indian Express. The Students also visited the residence of Education Minister, Mr. A.S. Lovely for the same.
- Enrolment in World Wild Fund for Nature.Visit to world wild life century-Rathambore.

Regular maintenance of ongoing projects like Vermin composting, Herbal Garden, Vegetable Garden, Rain harvesting plant house.
   
3. Academics
-
The fantastic Board Results have had a buoyant effect on the self worth of all students in general. To convert this "feel good" factor into even better performance, we have had the following activities.
- Narayana Interaction : Class XI students were given guidelines & tips on preparing for IIT, AIEEE etc.
- ASSET apitude tests is being conducted foe classes IV to X.
- Regular participation in Maths, Science & Informatics Olympiads.
   
4. Communication Skill
-
The nominees for the post of President were asked to speak extempore on "How the cabinet acts as a link between the students and the teachers".

Debates organized at various class levels.

- Book Review contest on the Harry Potter series in the 2nd week of August.
   
5. Leadership
- Continuous efforts are being made to inculcate leadership qualities in students.

Students are encouraged to participate in various seminars and workshops. For e.g. Tanya Paul went to Canada to participate in Leadership Training Workshop. Arushi, Pankhuri and Prabhat participated in Global Classroom at Egypt in December 2007.
- Student leaders for coordinating various activities of Astronomy Club, Literary Club.
   
6. Performing Arts
-
It provide an avenue for creative expression by students in the form of graceful physical movements and captivating verbal expressions.
- Skits are hosted to bring forth the dramatic skills of students.
- Students are encouraged to learn musical instruments, Indian & western music.
- Ad mad competition is planned to bring out "On the spot creativity with words".
   
7. Creativity Arts
- Creative Arts provide a tangible experience. Activities are conducted regularly and students bring home laurels.
- Culinary Skills : Mango festival was organized for various classes. Students prepared detectable dishes using mango.
- Concept of "Best out of waste" is being implemented.
- Dance workshop with Zenith Dance Group.
   
8. Life Skills
- They are to be imparted at a very early stage so that students grow up to be better and healthy individuals.

9. Entrepreneurship Skills

It is a systematic purposeful & creative activity to deliver product/service to the customer and returns for investor and profit for self.
- Visit to Mother dairy & Parle factory establishments to show how such establishments work.
- Resource persons to visit and guide students on how to launch small scale establishments.
   
10. Physical Fitness
- Summer Camp & coaching for various sports was organized for students.
- Coaching is being imparted in Football, Cricket and Mini Lawn Tennis, Skating by competent coaches.
- Inter house sports activities are organized & planned.

Importance of Healthy eating Habits is emphasized through various activities on salad making & low calorie snacks by primary and Home Science department.
   
11. Musical talents
- Regular effort is being made to teach vocal as well as instrumental music to teach students.
- The school has a Senior as well as Junior Orchestra.

The students take up all opportunities to participate in musical activities & competition at intra & inter-school level.
   
12. Miscellaneous
 
Other than these broad categories, various activities are carried out for the all round development of students.
 
Astronomy Club : Mobile planetarium shows were conducted for over 500 students. Students had an opportunity to interact with the Astronauts Ms. Sunita Williams at 3 different venues.
 
Wall Magazine Journalism : Bulletin boards of various wings and classes have been allotted to students. They are given the liberty to be imaginative and creative to make the boards as informative, educative and entertaining as possible.
